Edward Victor Fry was the sixth child of Frederick Fry & Mary Ann Waters, born June 6th, 1887 in the Union Workhouse, Linton, Maidstone, Kent.
In 1891 Edward, known as Victor, & his parents & siblings were living at 18 Chillington St, Maidstone.
By 1901 the family had moved to 13 Cage Lane, Chatham, Kent.
In 1911 Victor was still living at home, now 26 Bush St, Chatham. He was now working as a store keeper at a greengrocers. Listed with the family at this time was Victor’s future wife, Maria Parry.
Victor married Maria Parry in October-December 1911 at Chatham. Maria was born June 16th, 1890 & christened October 26th, 1890 at St Mary’s, Chatham, Kent, the daughter of Maria Tappenden & James Parry, a general labourer.

Maria, aged just 36, died in April-June 1927, her death being registered in Medway, Kent.
The 1939 register shows widowed Victor living at 111 New Rd, working as a shipyard labourer. With him were sons, Verdun, a riveter on aircraft, & Sidney, an assistant anodic operator on aircraft. Daughter Irene was still at home doing unpaid domestic duties. Irene was to marry Reginald Busby in Oct-December 1942 in Chatham.
Victor, aged 67, died in Jan-March 1955 at Chatham.
